Hi, my name is Joshua.
I used to have 3 tiger barbs, 1 died, and my pleco died awhile ago. And so I only have 2 tiger barbs, can you give me advice to help my tiger barbs survive? Everybody knows that if their fish died, they would be pretty sad, too. Can you please give me some advice?

The Black Ghost Knife really prefers live foods , you will find it will make your bgk more active , also to sex the bgk the female will reach 25cm and stop growing her head will stay small like a juivinilles, while the male will reach 30cm and his head will protrude. They really are a great and interesting fish.

Hello justin,
The BGK fish is going to take a few weeks to adjust to new living conditions. I just got one during the summer, and I remember that it took around 2-3 weeks before it actually came up for food and was active in the tank. It's probably scavenging for week at night, but you never see it. I would try to get a flashlight and drop some frozen food in the tank since that is when the BGK is most active. Don't put too much in, since the BGK is still shy, and putting in too much food will only pollute the tank. It will be a slow transition before the BGK is well-adjusted.

Also, be careful that the BGK does not get ich. I remember mine got ich a few days later, but after I used CopperSafe, the ich subsided, and my BGK came out to eat voraciously seeking food.

I agree with Charlie. I actually have 1 serpae tetra (aka tiger tetra) , a black tetra, 2 neon tetras believe it or not and a male Beta fish all in a 5 gallon tank! They pretty much all do get along but once in a while you see them act up like kids. The most agressive ones believe it or not is the black and serpae tetra.

You should either take back the Malawi cichlids or the tiger barbs. In most cases, tiger barbs will usually do fine in large groups with more territorial fish, but the Malawi cichlids are a nasty bunch that don't mess around.

hi, we have just bought 4 tiger barbs and after reading up on them we intend buying at least 4 more, my concern is that we purchased 4 malawian fish the next day and they seem to b very aggresive toward my tiger babies, we have had a silver dollar, two tin foils and a bala shark who are around 12cm each and havnt harmed the tiger barbs at all but these four malawians are constantly going at them, what should i do? i love my tiger barbs and we only have them for 3days now.. they are just too gorgeous

I bought a guppy and a tetra for my sons first pet. We bought them from Wal-mart and I listened to the person at the store who said that they would be fine together. Well this morning the poor guppys fin was severly damaged and he was on his last "fins" should I say. Maybe they will let me exchange it, we'll see. So I would definitely 2nd the tail nipping. The tetra did seem very fast moving compared to the guppy once I got them home.

I love Rams. They are great fish that are beautiful. If you have a large enough tank, you should add a few discus. My breeding pair of rams love to hang out with my Discus.

You can feed them "heart beef" mixed and freezed.
Or what they like perhaps because they can play with is koi-sticks.
Or vegetarian pellets as well.
I bought 7 all long finned... I have 30 now ... They are easy to breed ... when they want to.
I now have normals, long finned, and ... yellows long and short finned ...
Lets now try some barbus nigrofasciatus breeding and get some F2 ...
